CACT runs in excess of 150 football and multisport courses across 13 weeks of the year in the Royal Borough of Greenwich, the London Borough of Bexley, the London Borough of Bromley and across Kent. As a registered charity, all proceeds go back into CACT's work at the heart of the community.
Running every school holiday, the courses vary from week long to three days and even one fun day. The days run from 9am-3pm and are open to boys and girls of all abilities aged 5-15. Some venues include goalkeeper and girls only courses. Every player who attends will be rewarded with a certificate of attendance and a small Charlton Athletic gift. Special awards will be handed out by CACT football coaches at the end of the week, including Players of the Week, Penalty Shootout Champion and the course's "Good Egg" award.
Children are coached in their age groups, within the morning sessions with CACT coaches looking to help develop the player's football techniques and movement skills. Then the afternoon is devoted to a World Cup-style tournament that runs throughout the week with prizes for our winners.
Over 6,000 children attend the courses each year, with parents choosing them for the following reasons:
Quality coaching in structured sessions, improving footballing ability
Improved confidence and social skills
Kids are kept fit and healthy over the holidays
All CACT coaches hold FA or UEFA coaching qualifications, have attended Safeguarding & First Aid training and have valid DBS checks and references carried out. The community scheme at Charlton Athletic has been delivering football sessions for youngsters since 1992.
