Mentoring Programme

A dedicated case worker supporters and challenges a young person for an agreed time period, assisting them in transforming their behavior.

The sessions are in a non-clinical setting, giving the young people the opportunity to attend without fear of other young people knowing or judging them. Alongside taking direct referrals from partners at specialist panels and statutory agencies, CACT has employed a trained counsellor since 2004 to work on an active listening service to offer 1-1 support for young people with issues as varied as anger management, low self-esteem, self-harming, bullying and substance misuse.

Young people can self-refer on the programmes, but referrals are also received from school nurses, youth workers, GP’s and parents.
