Charlton Challenge continues to provide pathways

Spiros Plaskasovitis has been selected for CACT’s Advanced Centre after impressing coaches at Charlton Challenge sessions at Crook Log Leisure Centre in Bexleyheath.

Spiros is the second young person to be selected for CACT’s Advanced Centre in the space of a month after six-year-old Freddie Galsworthy was also chosen having dazzled coaches at Charlton Challenge sessions at Sidcup Leisure Centre.

Lucy, Spiro’s mother, said:

“The Charlton Challenge sessions and all of the coaches have given Spiros the confidence to be the player he is today. They treated him as an individual and helped him develop his skills enabling him to progress to the Advanced Centre.

“We are extremely grateful for all the hard work and time that is taken. Not just for Spiros as an individual, but the programme as a whole.”

Bradley Marshall, CACT’s SE London Football & Sports Development Officer, said:

“Charlton Challenge is a great programme for players to develop from beginners to then have the skills to enter our Advanced Centre, which supports the Academy at Charlton Athletic Football Club.”

Charlton Challenge courses, which are open to five to 15-year-olds, last 10 to 12 weeks. Click here for more information.
