Charlton women 2018/19 fixtures released

The Charlton Athletic women’s team travel to Lewes on Sunday, August 19th for the first round of group stage fixtures in the FA Women's Continental Cup before hosting Millwall the following week in the same competition.

Other teams drawn in the women's group are holders Arsenal and fellow FA Women's Super League side West Ham.

It's the second season running the women's team has started their season with a tie against Lewes, beating them 6-1 at Sporting Club Thamesmead last August to kick off a promotion-winning season.

The Addicks’ first ever FA Women's Championship game will see them host Aston Villa on Wednesday, September 19th, 7.45pm kick-off. This will be the first Championship game hosted at the women's new home, Oakwood Park in Crayford.

Charlton will then travel to Durham for a 12pm kick-off on the September 23rd, before another clash against fellow newcomers Lewes at home on Sunday, September 30th.

October will see the Addicks travel to Manchester United on the 14th, as well as face Sheffield United, London Bees and South London rivals Millwall.

Manager Riteesh Mishra is happy with the challenge the opening fixtures provide.

“Looking at the fixtures we have some tough games early on but we are ready for the challenge ahead.

“We have seen how well Charlton fans have backed the first team for these fixtures and would love to see as many Charlton fans as possible experience womens football and come down to support us this season.

“We are a new professional Championship team, we have a brand new home at Oakwood Park, and can’t wait to get going.” Mishra added.
