Measles are back

'We are tackling Measles and so should you', said CAFC young pros Jonjo Shelvey, Jack Clark and Alex Stavrinou
Measles is highly infectious and the most contagious virus we know. It spreads rapidly and victims could be hospitalised with pneumonia, swelling of the brain and fits.
South East London is facing a measles outbreak because not enough people are vaccinated against it. Adults are also at risk from this and if they catch measles the symptoms and side effects are more severe.
In order to control measles, CAFC is supporting Greenwich PCT to raise awareness and promote opportunities for people to be vaccinated against it.
We urge you to protect yourself and those you care for against measles with two doses of MMR. Mumps and rubella are other diseases which can cause long-term damage; the MMR will protect you against all three.
Are you aged between 13 months and 25 years?
