THE SVRL campaign raised awareness of the serious issues of weapons related violence amongst young people through the experiences of the Knox family, with the tragic loss of their son Rob.
CACT in conjunction with the football club recently held its eighth annual SVRL game at Charlton Athletic’s match against Milwall on January 14th 2017.
SVRL is one of the first delivered by a football related trust and has been adopted as a model of best practice by other football clubs with the campaign working at three levels:
- Throughout awareness programmes in schools
- On estates based programmes where young people are identified as being involved in crime or are at risk of being so
- Through targeted specialist work with repeat offenders who are at risk of custodial sentences or who have served a sentence but have been released on licence
