Street Violence Ruins Lives
Read All About It!
Christopher Jarratt
Borough Commander, Greenwich
Street violence ruins people's lives. Greenwich Borough Police are determined to do all that they can to reduce such crime across the Borough. Working with key partners, notably Greenwich Council and CAFC, prevention has to be the goal. Today's event can do much to raise awareness of the issue and highlight the public's support for our efforts.

Across London, in an effort to reduce knife crime, the Met is delivering Operation Blunt 2. Within Greenwich Borough this is a priority and my message is clear -those caught carrying a knife within our Borough should receive a custodial sentence.

We welcome any information that can help us identify those carrying knives and would promote Crimestoppers as the way to inform us (0800 555 111).

I would like to publicly thank the staff and players of Charlton Athletic FC for all of their work today and throughout the year in support of increasing the quality of life in our Borough.
