L&Q One Goal sessions return

The successful L&Q One Goal programme is to return this summer, with dates announced for sessions across London commencing in late July.

It comprises a wide range of free sports and arts activities for children and young people, encouraging them to be creative, active and healthy.

Well into its third year, the service is for more than 15,000 people between the ages of five and 21 across 20 London boroughs. It is the largest free to use holiday programme in the UK, ensuring that there are no financial barriers to participation. It receives a grant from the L&Q Foundation.

Operating in L&Q housing stock areas, the scheme is delivered by Charlton Athletic Community Trust (CACT) and eight London football clubs: Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham United, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, Millwall and Leyton Orient.

Activities range from football to basketball, street dance, DJ workshops, canvas and t-shirt design, cookery, laser tag and zumba. CACT, Spurs, West Ham, QPR and Millwall will also be providing free hot meals on selected days as part of the Mayor's Fund for London's Kitchen Social programme.

One Goal will also be teaming up with Stonewall once again to promote their Rainbow Laces campaign to tackle homophobia in sport.

CACT’s sessions kick off on Monday 24 July in several venues across Royal Greenwich and Bexley. Previous editions have attracted visits by Charlton Athletic centre-back Jason Pearce, an ambassador.
