Over 200 coats donated by the Charlton family to help the homeless this Christmas

There has been an incredible response to Charlton Athletic Community Trust’s ‘Donate a Coat’ campaign.

Staff, players, supporters and members of the local community donated 200 coats to collection points at The Valley and Charlton’s training ground at Sparrows Lane, New Eltham.

The coats were delivered to the Greenwich branch of homeless charity Emmaus. The coats will be delivered across Royal Greenwich and the London Borough of Bexley to local homeless people by Emmaus, and their partners the Woolwich Central Baptist Church.

Clare Waghorn, from Emmaus Greenwich said: “We would like to thank everyone from Charlton family so much for donating their coats. Each one will go to keeping someone warm on the streets of South East London this Christmas.”
